JOY "One Little Word" 2012

One Little Word 2012 is coming to a close. I do know that it has been good for me to think about, write about, make pages about the word “JOY”. I believe it has helped me to recapture a deep abiding joy. Do I have it all the time? No.
The movement between sorrow and joy is as thin as the veil. The second half of this year, I began to know joy more than sorrow. I also know it comes not from me. An inner peace has enveloped me and I feel so much stronger.
I am anxious to move ahead with joy 2012, hope 2011, courage 2010, and in 2013, I choose - LIVE as my “One Little Word”. I want to live and feel alive. I want to live renewed. I want to live refreshed. I want to live joyfully. I want to live to embrace. I want to live to nurture. I want to live to have grace. I want to live to extend mercy. I want to live open to possibilities.

Reflections of Christmas 2012

Last Christmas, I traveled to be with family and it was wonderful to be with those I love dearly. This year, I chose to stay put, knowing that part of what I needed was to have quiet time to experience more of my new "Normal". I have been working on my art journal all day. Today, I made pages on peace, joy and love. I had already done a Hope page. The process has been good for me. Creative outlet brings me into one with THE CREATOR as much as worship does. The first week is begins with HOPE!
The second week is PEACE! Oh that we would have peace in this world.
The third Sunday in Advent is the day we light the pink candle. It symbolizes "Joy"
The forth Sunday in Advent is LOVE. These two pages are side by side in the journal.
My next stop is into the kitchen to start my dinner. It's all good!

Art Journal...The Second Year

I have actually been at my work space creating. I had a Strathmore Visual Art Journal 12X 8 that I had not done anything with. I pulled it out and started with the three inside pages called it...The Second Year. Each will be it's own page but I will share them when they are completed. I am never sure where I will take my art journals but I love the freedom to just be me. Express what I want to express without the inner critic saying...not good enough!!
I then added the cover and inside cover pages with a comfort to me from the wonderful Gospel hymn "His Eye is On The Sparrow" which carries me on days when I feel alone.
I really do "know He watches over Me".

A Poem for My Love

Adrift on a sea of life.
Heart invisible to most, lost in sadness no one sees,
trying to keep my head above the sea.

A year of trying has taken it's toll.
I have crashed and burned on the shoal.
I try to hold my head up high,
so others do not see the anguish that lives in me.

I know I am tucked under God's wing,
but I still ache and want to see my love again.
That day will come when I am called home.
Oh my, Oh my, my wish fulfilled.

Until that time, I must be strong.
I know God turns bad to good.

So for now,
I carry love in my heart
and know we are never apart.

stampers' sampler take ten TM Autumn 2012

I was so surprised today when I went to get the mail. I had a package that said Artcomp Mail no return address.

When I opened it I found stampers' sampler take ten TM Autumn 2012 edition. What is even more amazing the card was sent in a long time ago. So they do hang on to our work and when it fits the layout, color, theme they use it.

They do not say in the instructions but the stamp was from The Angel Company TM which unfortunately is no longer in business but Red Rubber Designs has a lot of the stamps that were from The Angel Company.  I do have an email into them to see if they have this one but have not heard back. Sorry they do not currently have this stamp set but they do have a lot of the others.

New Studio Work Room

I am a little closer to finishing my project. I still have to do a little more painting but I need to rest for now. The wonderful thing about answering only to yourself. You do have a lot of freedom. Here are two pixs of the room originally and the beginnings of the new workspace.

Here is what I need to move into this room. Not going to happen!!!

Missing my Muse...

The only creating I have been doing is working in my yard and porch.  Gardening and yard work were my dear husband's joy!  Maybe now that he is gone that is why I find I get great pleasure doing it.  It keeps me closer to him?

Anyhow, here is my first fruit, tomatoes.  I also have chives and basil. My first Rose bush. I planted four and only one seems to be doing well.

I am plan in going into my art studio/craft room today and begin to try to get back my groove.

peace, love and joy to all,
forever His,

Newest Addition to the Garden

My dear friend Birgitt gave me this neat basket and I took four cups I had made in pottery class and put them in the basket and filled them with Ivy. I do like how it came out. There is so much I need to do around the house but I just can not find the willingness to tackle what needs done. This is a simple and not costly and instant gratification!
